The Palace, whose construction has been ordered by the king, was built by Luigi Manini very close to the Convent of Santa Cruz do Buçaco by the end of the 19th century.
The revival programme of the exterior façade combines with the grandiosity of the interior, which has a sumptuous staircase, magnificent tiles made by Jorge Colaço, frescos painted by António Ramalho and paintings of Carlos Reis.
