The Baroque Library
In Baroque Style it has been built in 1717 during the reign of King John V. Really magnificent it’s a work clearly connected with the Portuguese Empire of that period. Brazilian and oriental exotic woods, delicate paintings, wonderful golden shelves and the majestic portrait of King John V painted by Domenico Duprá definitely catch our eye. The main stocks of old books are stored in this library. It comprises an area of 1.250 sqm filled with remarkable books all dating till 1800.
